Yes it was Lisa... with three of my little primary kids with her!!!
There were three very wide eyed eight year olds staring at my bald head! Geez... The girls both looked at the ground trying not to stare... the boy stared his little heart away and grinned at my big bald head. It was pretty funny, oh well!
The primary made me cards in sharing time on Sunday. It made me cry, seriously such a nice thing to do. I was really touched by a lot of the messages that the primary wrote on these cards. One that is standing out to me right now was from a boy who's family recently converted to the church, he was just baptised a few months ago with his dad and brother. The last week I was in primary we were talking about our trunk or treat for Halloween and he said, "What if I don't have my costume by then..." I turned around and told him that I remembered that he had worn a really cool leather jacket to church one week (probably his dad's) and that he could come as a biker dude. I actually said "biker dude" and I couldn't tell by the look on his face if that was cool or not... But guess what... he did come as a biker dude!!! His card was very sweet and it said, "Remember that you are never alone..." Thank you David. Thank you everyone in primary for these sweet and tender cards!!!
There were cards from the young women in there too. Apparently I have a new nickname in church... It's... Sister Lovely... how hilarious is that!!! I've been getting a kick out of that. Lots of cards addressed to Sister Lovely.
The Miamaids came over on Wednesday to make a big delivery. They made five freezer dinners for me for their activity that night. So they all came over to bring me the meals and I made them pose for a picture. I was really touched by this too, one of the nicest things that they could have possibly done for me.
I think that it is so touching that the youth in our ward would get involved in service like this. I'm finding that it doesn't take much to serve someone. Something that might seem fairly easy or insignificant to someone really can make a huge difference in the person on the receiving end. My heart has been lifted by these sweet kids in the ward this week. Thanks so much you guys (ya right.... like any of them are reading this! Oh well, their mothers might be...)
And just do you know... I'm totally legit... see so for yourself!!!
Ummm.... what does that mean? Too funny!

That is so sweet. It makes me want to go out and serve someone.
Sister Lovely - hmm that's almost as good as Cindy the nurse. Grandma would be proud. She liked things to be lovely.
Love,
Mom
This made me cry! I am in the Young Woman's and work with all the youth. We try to do service projects such as these all year round. It's nice to hear it made such a difference on the other end, even if it wasn't from my kids! I'm so happy they had the opportunity to serve you!
That is awesome. I love the youth in our ward too. It is amazing when Fast and Testimony meeting comes along and at least 5 young men or women bear their extremely profound and inspiring testimonies. It makes me feel good about the future leaders of the world.
BTW: I totally love the new nickname. I just might have to start calling you that as well. And you are totally 'Legit'/AKA not fake. :D
That is touching! I am so glad you have a great ward. Also, I had to laugh when you said that you ran and hid when you heard a knock at the door...I totally do the same thing. For some reason I would rather have Brady answer and talk until I know who it is and if I want to talk to them:) Anyway, love you Meg and am always thinking about you.
wow. that is so amazing! I'm so glad for wards and for the help they give to others when the rest of us can't be close to help out! and you are very lovely!
I am so glad that your ward is taking good care of you and showing you love! What a wonderful support network we have in the church. I learned a lot about service with this pregnancy. The smallest acts of service can mean so much! I too love the new nickname. I think it is perfect!
Too cute. I love that they thought of you. We do have cute kids. And little David - he has been raised by his dad - who has done something right because he is an amazing kid. We are so blessed to have a ward family. We can serve and we can also know that there will be support when we are in need ourselves!! Love the legit comment - I feel so old because I am not sure what they mean by that!!!
What an awesome ward you live in! That is so AWESOME! I want to thank you for the service you have done for me.... I would be lost without you as such an awesome friend!! XOXOXO
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. Sister Lovely, you are totally legit. I'm laughing and crying at the same time. Love you!
What a neat idea for the primary kids and young women to do! I love it!
too legit... too legit to quit! hey! hey!
yah, so that's what i thought of...
Megan, you certainly are one of the most lovely gracious women I have ever met. The nickname is perfect! God bless you. Hang in there. Xoxo
