So the second date wasn't much better than the first. By now a month had passed and I had moved on. I actually had a new budding relationship.... a boyfriend. We had a few weeks of off school for the Olympics being in Salt Lake. I got a call one night from Trent, reminding me that we had a date set up for the Brooks and Dunn concert at the Olympics. Oh ya, this was suppose to be date #1, which we decided to do earlier, so technically I had told him that I would go to this concert with him.... great...
So I said good bye to my "boyfriend" and waited for Trent to come and pick me up. I remember sitting there in my living room thinking that this is the last thing that I would want to be doing this night. I was not excited about this, considering how the first date went.
He came and picked me up, and to start off on the best foot ever... we were wearing matching tan sweaters. How dumb is that!!! We got into this OLLLLDDDDD GMC truck and drove to meet his sister and her husband who were doubling with us. I also remember thinking as we drove, "too bad I don't like this guy, because he is kind of cute." Ya, too bad....
I don't want to drag this date on, it dragged on enough once in history, so here are just a few highlights. It was so freezing cold out there. So amazingly cold!!!! So Trent thought this was a great opportunity to help "keep me warm." He kept holding my hand and putting his arms around me. I was not feeling it, at all. I don't even like Brooks and Dunn!!! I only knew one song that they sang "Maria" so I wasn't feeling the music either. Here is a memory.... the coat that I was wearing had Velcro on the back right across my... backside. Well, the gloves that Trent was wearing had Velcro on the wrists. Well, somehow they kept getting "stuck".... oh boy...
After the concert we went to eat at Denny's. Trent ordered the lumber jack breakfast.... and a few other things. This was the first time that I was introduced to the hollow leg. He ate SOOOO much food. I was absolutely amazed. I felt bad for the poor girl who would have to cook dinner for him every night, because man he could EAT!!!
He dropped me off at the end of the night and I was done. I thanked him for the date, and something like "Ya, I'll see you later..." never intending on seeing him again. I was done. Two dates, no chemistry, I had a boyfriend, I lived two hours away. This was it.
I think that he called me a few weeks later and asked me to go on a group date with a bunch of his friends that were married, we would be the only not married couple there.... I turned him down. I was not going to go on a date with Trent again.
I had completely forgotten about Trent, honestly I had. He never called me after that. He knew that I didn't like him, I wasn't exactly hiding my feelings, or lack of feelings.
Until one night in April when I came home for Easter...

the suspense! I'm totally into this! keep it coming!!!
SO NOT COOL!! ch. 3 please ... tomorrow.
I love the part about the matching sweaters. The first time I went out with Evan, I went to his house and he was in work out clothes. Before we left for dinner, he looked at my clothes and went and changed coming out dressed in the exact same colors as me down to the shoes. I was mortified!
I love to hear you retell this story and it is fun to think back to when this was all unfolding. It was so much fun in Park Place C4 - never a dull moment.
Man, you're like a book! lol, can't wait to hear the next part, even though I know what happens! :) WOO WOO PARK PLACE C4! We were the BOMB! (Man that was lame, but that was us! :)
What I DON'T remember is who your "boyfriend" was at the time? I went through some pictures last night and found some Snow pictures...more specifically from our big group date to my parents house. You know, the one that was supposed to be a "BLIND" date but we all told the other room mate who we wanted to go with us? OH MAN! I am so blogging about that! Plus, there are two pictures...one of you, one of Jules....yeah, that is so getting blogged too! YEAH! SUSPENSE TO YOU THREE! HA! I can't wait! :) (sorry for the novel)
AHHH! I'm totally into this. HURRRRRY AND FINISH!
On your way home for "date 1" your roommate Kimberlee was driving and rearended a car making you late for you date! But that was okay because I got to meet this guy and gave you the "signal" that it was okay to go out with him! And I remember you saying...he's tall and cute...I should line you up with him! :o) Good thing everything worked out between you two...because you are both great and meant for each other! :o)
Hahaha how funny! I especially love the velcro part!
