Perfect Saturday...

Ahhhh.... today was so wonderful!!! We got up bright and early and drove out to Pine Valley Reservoir to go fishing. It really was the perfect day. We took the long way there (it's an hour north of St. George) and ate at this cute little diner for lunch. Then we sat in the nice cool sun (low 70's, perfect) and fished all day.... it really was so nice. Such a beautiful valley, pine trees everywhere. Smelling it made me think of Brighton, it was the closest thing to perfect that I've felt in a long time!!!

Here is the fisherman himself. He's been such a good sport about not being able to go fishing or hunting very often due to our choice of residence... but someday we will live somewhere that he can go everyday if he wants to. Today was free fishing day in Utah, so I even got to fish even though I don't have a license. I caught 3!!!

Tru loved it! He was such a good sport sitting on the blanket and playing with his toys. I was a little worried about him rolling into the lake, but we left dry so that was good! Tru loved touching the fish when Trent was taking them off of the hook. He liked pulling on the tails...

There were soooooo many fish there! We caught about 40 fish, but came home with our allowed 8. There was this group of boy scouts from Vegas there and Trent let a lot of them use his poll and would help them reel in the fish. It was cute to watch him help these boys. There little fisher price meat sticks just weren't doing the job. It was fun to see the look on their faces when the got a fish.

When it came time for nap time, we made a little bed for Tru in his carseat in the shade. Looks pretty comfortable to me!!! Okay, I realize that this looks dangerous, but we were sitting by him the whole time so that he didn't go rolling into the rocks.

I wish everyday could be this relaxing and fun. Laying by a lake, not a care in the world, with my two boys, enjoying the beautiful earth that we live on.... love it!!!
