I made a silent vow when I became a mother that I would not discuss my child's "bathroom stuff" with anyone other than his father, and the doctor. Why??? I get so grossed out when people talk about their kids crap... sorry, but I do. I think for the most part I've stuck to the vow...
With that being said, I have some potty stuff to talk about today, so I'll keep it clean ;). First off I have no desire or intention of potty training Tru any time soon. I've got enough crazy stuff going on, potty training can wait. I'm completely fine with that. Also, I'm not sure why but Trent swears that I made a deal with him once that when Tru was potty trained we could get a puppy. WHAT?!?!?! Heck no! So ya, no intention at all to potty train this kid.
However, lately he has been asking to use the potty. He likes sitting there, and flushing the toilet, closing the lid. He thinks it a way fun game. Never before has anything actually entered "the potty".
So this morning I go get Tru out of his crib. Here was our little conversation...
Mom- Good morning sweetie!
Tru- Potty?
Mom- You need to use the potty?
Tru - Ummmm..... potty?
Meg- Well, okay lets go!
Sat him down.... and he went. He totally went. What's going on here?
Again, this kid is probably going to have to train himself, because I'm not interested. But he wants to do it, go for it! I'm pretty sure it was a fluke... but the proud mother in me had to share!
*** The staging scan was today. It went well! Meaning, I didn't puke from drinking that nasty barium. I hate getting IV's, didn't know that was part of it. Oh well, I really should get used to that quick here. I can pick up my films tomorrow. So here lies the question... should I look at them? I've never seen films from a ct scan before so I'm not sure that I would even have a clue what to look for. But I'm a curious, and I don't think I can wait until October to look. So we'll see...

Ya, waiting until October... THAT IS CRAZY!? Who on earth---WHY on earth--- do you have to wait that long?
Well, I'm glad you didn't throw up. That's good, eh!?
Yay for Tru! Sad for you! Hahaha... We made the mistake of promising Joshua a cookie when he used the potty so now he only asks when he's in the mood for a cookie which is becoming quite often lately...
I think they like to copy the adults more than they actually realize what they're doing.
I vote look at them- I'm sure it will drive you crazy if you don't. Have you tried numbing cream? It helps getting IV's a little easier =o)
That's always so much easier when they decide to do it themselves :) I've never been interested in it either...LOL.
He's wonder boy! Will go find food when hungry and now he's potty training himself too! What could be better?
That is awesome he has an interest in the potty. I wish Sierra was the same way. Haha. I'm glad your staging scan went well. About whether or not you should look at the scans, I would probably look at them if it were me, but then again that may cause you to worry so I'm not sure.
What a cutie, Tru is awesome for asking to use the potty and then going. That has only happened to us once. Jackson is supper interested in his potty but mainly likes to stand in it.
When I picked up my CT scan films I was really interested in seeing what they would show me. For me it was a bunch of black and white blobs everywhere-not really very informative for me at least though I looked through the entire giant stack. Then I started worrying that I got them out of order (I had no idea) and if that would effect my result reading by the doctor. Apparently, he knew what he was looking at so that's good! Tell me if you can make out anything in yours.
That's crazy! And really cool! I wonder if he'll keep it up. I was thinking about you today- so glad you didnt' puke from the contrast- yuck- you won't find out until oct??? it seems like everything is taking so long. - stay busy! how are you feeling otherwise? I just got chemo- so the crap will kick in soon- but I'll keep checking for your results-
