Rule Breaker...

I've felt soooooo good this last week I've been living life a little on the wild side... wild for a cancer patient ;). I've been breaking a lot of rules... here are the rules that I'm referring too...

1- Don't go in large crowds.

2- No eating raw fruits or vegetables

3- No eating at buffets, salad bars, or pot lucks

Ya... these rules have all been broken in the last week. Some of them multiple times.

1- I went to sacrament meeting on Sunday. It's the first time that I've been to church since starting chemo. I miss church a lot, but another big rule is if you have a kid in daycare or preschool take them out!! We all know that kids are just little germ sharers. So nursery applies there, so we don't go. Also, church is a crowd... lots of people. Lots of people who think that it's so important to teach their sunbeam lesson so they come to church even if their sick or their kids are sick... we all know it's true. But I broke the rule Sunday and went to sacrament meeting and it was so nice to be there...

2- I went to Trent's work Christmas party... which was a potluck. I didn't eat any of the raw fruit but I did eat the other food... so far I'm not sick though so I think I'm okay.

3- We went out to dinner on Friday to celebrate... and I ate some salad. It was so good... I miss lettuce sooooo much. Again, big rule breaker, but it was worth it ;).

4- We went to Walmart on Monday night, I'm pretty sure that going to Walmart is breaking a rule too. Why? When has anyone ever avoided going to Walmart because they were sick? Probably no one... and I'm pretty sure that everyone shops at Walmart and it's one of the least clean stores that there is... I don't like Walmart in general but we went. And I'm pretty sure that letting your kid ride in the Elmo car at Walmart is totally breaking the "germ freak" rules too... but we did it. And he loved it! So it was worth it.

I'm dreading tomorrow... just another treatment down though right? I'm done with all the trees that I'm going to do for the season. I don't dare have anyone depend on me to make a tree for them when I'm not sure how this treatment will go... one week before Christmas. All of my stuff is bought and ready to go, all presents shipped. I just hope that I'm feeling well enough by Christmas to enjoy it!

You know, its funny, I didn't have any of those rules. Mine was mostly just wash your hands a lot. But I don't have kids. But I do work at a bank. Huh. I only got one cold while doing treatment. I don't want you sick though, so don't start doing a bunch of stuff just cause I was fine!

You are so good. I am glad you got out and 'celebrated' a little. Don't forget Christmas is at my house. :D Let's hope no one gets sick between now and then. I am so not going to like a recurrence of Thanksgiving 2009 if someone does. Arg!

I'm glad you got a little fun time before your next treatment!

And thank you so much for the trees - I'm thrilled with them!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow...
