Well... the day has finally come. I've been pushing my luck for a while here. Tru is such a climber, he climbs all over everything! He has climbed out of his crib before but he usually waits very patiently for us to come and get him so we've left him in there. Yesterday he really didn't want to take his nap and was out of the crib and out the door before I could make it down the hall!!!
So we took off the side, and what a nightmare! He didn't take a nap yesterday. After an hour of calling "MEG" at the door he was quiet... so silly me opened the door and he was laying in his bed reading a book but jumped up as soon as he saw me and all that progress was lost! He did pretty good last night... until 6:30 AM when I woke up to Tru standing right by my head saying, "Meg... Meg... Meg sleeping?" Oh brother!!!! I can't wake up at 6:30 everyday!!! This is going to be interesting...
We've changed the lock on the door so that we can lock it from the outside and keep him in there. I just don't like that I can't check on him without opening the door. I asked Trent if he could put a peep hole in the door so that I can check on him... we'll see. I just don't want him to fall asleep on top of his dresser... I wouldn't put it past him!!
**And just for the record... I've done a way better job at calling Trent "dad" than he has done at calling me "mom". The proof is that Tru ALWAYS calls Trent dad and he usually calls me... Meg. If I don't respond to Meg then he calls me Megan... geez.

That's so funny that he calls by your first name! let me know how the transition to a big boy bed goes over time- we'll be doing that soon too!
What about one of those nanny cam things? Or video baby monitors? That way you can see what he's doing without opening the door.
I think it's hilarious that he calls you Meg!
We have a baby gate in front of Austin's door. Would that work for Tru?
This is funny because Isaac went through a phase where he called his dad "NED" all the time. Ned accused me of not calling him "Daddy" enough, but I think that "Ned" and "Meg" are just really easy names for kids to say! He never called me by my first name, but there were many times he called me "Babe", haha!
Call me bad...but I almost think it's cute that he calls you Meg :) I know, he should call you mom...but I can hear it in my head, a little boy's voice saying Meg and I find it adorable! Good luck with the bed!
George looks happy!
Good luck with the transition to the bed! We did that with Sandy about a month ago and it was rough for those first couple of nights - lots of crying and she slept on the floor by the door. She's doing great now, though. We're lucky she can't open her bedroom door yet.
Scarlet climbed out of her crib once...and hasn't done it again. We have carpet so it wasn't too hard of a landing, but it scared her enough she doesn't do it anymore. That's so funny he calls you Meg! And I hope he doesn't wake you up that early every morning!
