Halloween Decor...

Trent has been walking around saying "Bah Humbug..." for a while now. He frowns whenever he sees other places decorated for Halloween. He's been mad that I haven't decorated for Halloween... sorry! I wasn't doing it because I felt like I would have to spend too much money doing it and I didn't want to spend money on decorations right now. So I put the ole' thinking cap on and came up with these cute/cheap decorations...

Black sticks with black birds...

The inspiration for these was from Design Mom. I went to a park and found some dead branches (I admit that my branches look pretty pathetic... but I don't live in a place where the leaves are falling off trees.... and palm tree branches just wouldn't do), spray painted them black with spray paint that I already had. The I had to buy some birds and spray paint them black, I think that I spent $6 on birds. So total on this project was $6 (I used vases that I already had...)

Bat Garland...

These bats were way too time consuming!!!! I took the hard route with these. I made a bat template, cut two out with fabric. Sewed the fabric and a layer of batting together, flipped them right side out, hand sewed the hole, machine sewed the little lines on the wings, and then hand sewed the red eyes on. It took a few days, it was RIDICULOUS!!! Sometimes I totally take the hard route, that's just how it made sense in my head. If I were to do it again, I would have just cut them out of felt and glued the eyes on. The only thing that I had to buy for these though were the red beads for $1.29. I had the batting and fabric left over from other projects...

So that is my contribution to Halloween decorations this year. Next year I'll add some more to the collection... Total amount spent was $7.29!!! Not bad... not bad...
