It was a rough weekend. I was out for two days with a horrible stomach bug. So today I'm cleaning up the tornado that happened while I was "out".However, there were a few highlights from beyond the couch... We did have a few firsts this weekend with Tru...
- He clapped his hands!!! This may sound strange because I'm pretty sure that most babies are clapping like crazy by about 7 months. Tru was not interested in clapping at all. He never did it. I was starting to think that he never would, but yesterday he clapped those chubby hands together and made me so happy.
- He did the sign for "food" this morning. Have I been diligent in signing every phrase to my little boy??? NOPE... I've been signing food, milk, drink, more, and all done for about a month and this morning he signed food quite frantically while he was sitting in his high chair waiting for his oatmeal. Trent's the one who noticed, and I think that it's convinced him to start signing to Tru as well.
- He took his first step/fall in church yesterday. I don't know if I really want to consider this his first step, because in my mind it's suppose to be a little more of an occasion than it was. He was holding onto the trash can and let go to stand there for a second. Then he attempted to take a step and fell over. Either way, he's starting to stand on his own a little bit and walking is going to be right around the corner I'm sure.
He's growing up too fast.... In a few short days I will have a one year old. So stay tuned for the birthday festivities going on this week in our place. You have your oldest child turn one once right?? Oh boy...

Sorry you're sick! I feel your pain! I have a major head cold that is kicking my booty! I'm so glad to catch up a little on your blog. It's been a long time since I've been able to sit down and read blogs! Yours always keeps me entertained! I miss you lots!
yeah for signs!!
I know that I never would have survived without Navi J knowing his signs! Did you know if you start now, he'll still be able to pick them up pretty fast! They are a life-saver...especially were for me!
Congrats on the first step, and clapping too :)
