Three Months Old...

Dear Tru,

I can't believe that you are really three months old today! Time has gone by pretty fast. In the first few weeks of your life I kept thinking "if we can only make it three months, then things should start getting better." I know that's a horrible thing for a mother to think, but you did scream non stop your first two months of life, and things HAVE gotten a ton better now that you are a little older.

Lots of great things have happened this past month. The first big thing is that your eyes have opened!!! One day it just seemed like you could really see! You love looking at everything! Your favorite thing to do is to stare at your mobile! I feel bad putting you to bed at night because you get mad when I turn out the lights and you can't watch your animal friends dance around anymore. You have been a much happier kid since you've been able to look around at things around you.

Another thing that happened this last month is that you started sleeping through the night! At about 10 weeks old, one night you just didn't wake up, and you've continued that ever since! That has made mom so happy!

You discovered your tongue this month too. You love licking anything that gets near your mouth. Especially zippers. If you have a zipper on your shirt or jacket you are one happy kid. You just lick and lick like it's the coolest thing that you've ever done!

You love to talk to mom and dad too. I could spend all day just babbling away to you! Like night and day, you have become such a happy smiling kid, and that makes this parenting thing all worth it to me.

You like to be held so that you can look out at everything! You love to go on our runs, and this is pretty much the only way that I can get you to take a nap for more that 20 minutes. I guess that's just motivation for me to take you on a run everyday. You also love to sit up, no more laying down for you, even though you still need lots of help to sit up.

Thanks for becoming such a happy guy and for being the best part of my day! I love you Tru....
Love,
Mom
