The crying stops when...

Mom gets off the crazy pills.... no kidding.

I have to clarify a few things I think. I am fully aware that babies are not supposed to sleep through the night until they are at least 8 weeks old, and that you need to feed them every 3 hours, etc. The past three weeks have been horrible. I hate even saying that but it's so true. It's like when one thing starts to get better I get hit with something else which has made this whole motherhood transition even harder.

About a week ago Tru started to get really fussy when it was naptime, but he would not sleep. This was about the same time that I started taking this antibiotic for my infection. I started to feel better from my infection, and Tru started to get fussier and fussier. What started as crying at naptime turned into crying all the time. For the past four days he has cried the whole day. Then I started to feel worse and worse, not being able to eat any food, dizzy, it got really bad. I finally realized how bad it was yesterday when I completely passed out and woke up laying on the floor. I'm so glad that I wasn't holding Tru when it happened. One quick call to the doctor to see if I could get off the crazy pills, and 24 hours later I am feeling so much better.... and so is Tru. I think that the meds were getting to him too and contributing to his fussiness. One can not try to make any rational motherhood decisions on how to handle naptime, bedtime, anytime when things are so bad. I really started to feel like we were not going to make it, I'm glad that things are going better now and that I'm off these horrible drugs.

In the meantime though, I am grateful for all of the good advice I've gotten from all of you moms on how to handle naptime and night time. It's not easy work!!! You've all made it through so I think that I will too.

And I had to post this picture, because if I wait a few more days it might not be valid. Tru is officially in the 10 lb club, so I took a picture with my little badge that Trent got me when I was prego. He weighed 10 lbs 8 oz today at the doctors. He's going to be a real chunk before too long!!!!
