Well... considering the fact that he is insistent on having his dinosaurs and stuffed animals all wear diapers like him, I would say that it's not going too well in the potty training department.
Honestly, I "tried" to train him for a few days and decided this was totally ridiculous. He's not getting it. He's just not there yet, and that is totally fine. I talked to a lot of people who said that when their kid was ready they just did it with a bit of encouragement. That sounds like my kind of training, not the kind where you are cleaning pee off of every surface in your house all day long. So until he starts showing a bit of desire to use the potty, we're taking a break.
We have some rather large life changing events coming up for our family in a few months here and so I really wanted to have him trained before that. But then I realized that I would probably have to retrain him anyway (assuming we got anywhere) because life is going to change for this little guy and I don't want too many new things going on for him. I think that my thinking was wrong and it would be better for all of us if we wait.

I would agree. I am now potty training my kid for the third time in a year. Hopefully this is the last time.
Uhhhh what are the life changing events that are coming up? have you mentioned it and I'm just drawing a blank?
LOVE the dinosaurs with diapers- I laughed out loud when i saw those- LOVE THEM-
You know I thought I was some kind of supermom since Olivia was SO EASY to train, I have learned since that I am not since Zachary who is nearing 3 1/2 still cant figure it out on a consistent basis, I think kids must have their own desire or its just too much work. Good luck and I bet you he gets it when you try again. :)
It's SO hard trying to get the timing right with this, but when you do it's so much easier. Boys are hard...at least ours are. Mine had been three for at least a few months before the whole thing finally "clicked" for them and it only took a couple days!
I agree...cleaning up pee and poo all day everyday is SO not worth it!
I love that his dinosaurs are wearing diapers. Hilarious!!!
It was soooooo hard to potty train my boys. They didn't decide to do it until months before they turned 4. Be patient--he'll do it when he wants to.
By the way--you can't keep us hanging on the "life changes" you hinted at. That is not nice!! You must tell or keep it to yourself next time. Urghh!!
Just catching up with you and had to say, I just tried pting too! For 3 days it went well and then he was over it! I gave up too. My friends w/ older kids said if they are ready it won't be so hard. I'll try again in a month or two! :)
