I've spent the last two days curled up on the couch in my nice fuzzy leopard robe... (sorry no pictures.) I'm sick, with a cold. I can handle the runny nose bit, no problem... it's this wicked sore throat that makes me think I might feel better if I just rip it out of my neck!!! {Sorry for the visual}.
And do you know what the only thing there was to watch on TV this morning?? The OJ Simpson sentencing!!! I kept thinking, "Why the heck am I watching this???" Oh ya, that's what EVERY STATION is playing!!!
I finally got dressed around 1PM and marched {drove} over to the pharmacy {Whole Foods} to pick up some of this...
For those of you who can't read the words on the itty bitty bottle it's Fenugreek Extract. It's suppose to help with the pain and reduce the swelling in your throat when you gargle it with water (at least that's what my bible is telling me). So far... it just makes me gag. So I don't think that it's going to work... smells like maple syrup, but it tastes like maple syrup at the bottom of a lake... or the toilet...
I just hope that I can kick this soon, because I like my neck, I would like it to stay in tact. Do any of you know any sore throat remedies that actually work? I might just have to stick with Chicken Noodle... because the Ibuprofen/Tylenol/NyQuil/throat spray is doing nothing for me...

I had the worst cough and kind of still do which led to very soar through, very achy. Anyway in the mission I learned to drink warm/hot water with lemon juice. It really helps soathe the throat. and tastes yummy.
Lemon-flavored theraflu with a teaspoon of honey usually does it for me.
Sore throats are the worst. Golden seal and cayenne pepper. I can't believe I said it. My dad would make me take it when I was sick, and it SUCKED! But it was the quickest thing to get rid of my sore throats. If you want the exact recipe, let me know, I will get it from my pops
Somebody once told me if you gargle with Listerine a sore throat would be gone fast, I always just suck on hard sugar candy. I hope you can get rid of it fast!

Strepsils lozengers, and continously sipping warm water.
I was sick two weeks ago with what sounds like the same thing. My sore throat persisted for five days! It was completely miserable and nothin worked. I just used DayQuil and Nyquil to take a little of the edge off...because that is about all it was good for. I hpoe you get feeling better soon.
oh i laugh! i've tried fenugreek. absolutely horrible experience.
I wish I could make it all go way with my magic wand but I broke it last week on Dale's head. :P
