So it's official... I got the call from my sister today. I am the best aunt ever!!!
Too bad I can't be an aunt to all the cute children of this world, because then life would be perfect.
This is my sweet little niece Kylee. She is a doll, as you can see by this picture. She is two, and a little chatter box. Today my sister called to tell me that little Kylee has learned a new word...
D*** it...
Huh? How did she learn that word? I wondered...
Sister said, "Well, I don't think that we have ever said that word in front of her before... so the only thing that I can think of is that she heard it from you..."
HUH???
Oh yes, then the flash back happened. It was last week when sister and her kids were here visiting. We were all going to the park... Me, sister, two cute kids in my car with Trent and Tru in the other car. I guess when Trent parked he reached back and unbuckled Tru's seatbelt straps. The kids were excited to be at the park!!! So they ran over to the other car and opened the door for Tru to get out.
That's when I heard the horrifying shriek of my little boy!!!
I turned to look and Tru is dangling head first out of the door of the car. I watched in horror and he fell head first into the gutter.
Damnit, Damnit, DAMNIT!!!! I yelled... What other word are you suppose to say when you see your precious baby fall out of the car head first into the cement gutter. I was too far away to do anything about it! I couldn't get there in time... so the only logical thing to do is swear right??? WRONG!
Tru was pretty sad about it. He was okay but had a few nice goose eggs and cuts on his head. I'm pretty sure that after the craziness of the situation passed I said, ''Sorry that I swore in front of your kids..." {insert nervous laughter here}
Soon the slides and swings were found and everyone was having a great time and the tense moment in the parking lot was all forgotten... right?
Apparently Kylee learned a new word from her great wonderful Aunt Meg... I feel so bad!
I need to work on this potty mouth! I really don't swear. I don't even remember the last time I swore, before the "incident" I mean...
I hope that Amy lets me around her kids again someday...

Oh my goodness Meg...I am not mad at all and of course you can be around my kids whenever you want! I feel bad that Tru fell out of the car when they opened the door! It's just one of things :)And in all honesty, my kids have picked up on worse words just walking through the grocery store! I know I've sworn when bad stuff has happened to my kids....Like the Thanksgiving that Anthony pushed 9 month old Kylee down the stairs twice when she was trying to climb up them. It happens and you are an awesome mom and aunt!!!!!
Um, damnit is not a swear word. ;) according to my husband, anyways. The word that slips out of MY mouth when stuff like that happens begins with an S, and it's far worse then damnit.
Ha! Thanks for making me feel better Elmo!
My little niece is 3, and my sister-in-law was telling me that while they were out one day, a lady went up to her and said, "Why...you are the most beautiful little girl! And such adorable curls you have!" What did my niece do??? Oh that's right...she folded her arms and said..."B**h!"
Kids! Gotta love em!
(Not to mention, she repeated when Dustin said hell!)
That is so funny! I accidentally swore in front of Evan's sister's two little kids one day because I thought they were outside and Evan and I were in a fight. Um, yep, his sister said right after that, "Well... I think we're going to leave early." I'm a wonderful aunt!
I am scared myself to find out what wonderful phrases come out of my daughters mouth not from aunts/uncles but from her parents. :D Gotta love them.
HA!! I love it meg. I too have let it slip but I'm working on it.
At a restaurant Gigi spilled an entire glass of milk all over the table, floor etc, and i yelled "OH sh . . .ooby-dooby-doo." Gigi said, "you mean shit mom?"
It happens to the best of us :)
I LOVE this!!! thanks for sharing!!
