It's soooo good to be back! Sorry for the lack of blogging... I have lots of catching up to do!
However, good things have been going on here (in no particular order) since the time I've been "away". Here are a few of them...
- VISITORS!!! I love having visitors! Anytime I can see family and friends is a really great time. First Trent's brother Dave and four of his friends came to crash at our house so they could see the USA Olympic basketball team play against Canada at the Thomas and Mac Center. It was fun to hang out with them for a few days. Then my parents and 3 of my siblings came down for a day and we had lots of fun! I was sad to see all of them leave!!!
- We went to our new ward on Sunday and everyone was so welcoming, friendly, nice, it was sooo nice! A nice change from the ward that we have been in for the last year. I'll admit it, it was a really hard adjustment for me to go from being the Relief Society Pres. in my ward in Hawaii where so much of my time was getting to know the amazing sisters in my ward, helping them, trying my best to include everyone and make Relief Society a great place...... to being in a ward where they really could care less if I was there or not. I know that's not so nice of an assumption, but I really felt that way the whole time. I could write stories and examples to justify my feelings but in the end I would just sound rude and bitter and I don't want to do that. It's been a long lonely year church wise, and I'm so relieved to be in a nice friendly ward now. Good thing...
- Speaking of things, I think that someone should have told Kid Rock that things and things are not rhyming words.... they are actually the same word!!! Just wanted to throw that one out there...
- WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! Well, a condo, and we bought it. We signed papers right on schedule on the 31st and have spent the last week cleaning, painting, packing, moving, unpacking, fixing, fixing.... it feels so good!!! It really is great! I love having my own place that I can call home. We celebrated by making a good ole' fashion COUNTRY BOIL!!!! Do you know what a country boil is? It's as white trash nice as you can get! Basically you get a pot of water and throw in potatoes, corn (on the cob) carrots, sausage, shrimp, crab legs and season it with old bay and butter. You boil it all together and then what you are suppose to do is cover the table in a vinyl table cloth or with wax paper and after the food is strained from the water, just dump it on the table and eat what you want with your hands.... We didn't do that. We were much more civilized and ate ours on plates with our hands sitting in front of the t.v. It was a fun way to celebrate though.
- Tru started saying Mamama this last week. Melts my heart. Even though the time that he usually says it is when he's crawling after me crying because he wants me to pick him up. At least he knows who he wants and can call me by name right?
Life is good.... there is so much to do! We are going to be busy working on this place for the next little while, but I'm excited to do it!

I know how you feel about your ward. It's sad to admit, but I hated my first ward. Nothing felt comfortable and no one really cared if I was around. I LOVE my ward now! I am so glad you're happy! And uber happy that Tru is saying Mamma! :)
