Okay, I've never done this before but I really wanted to spotlight a good friend of mine who inspires me all the time. Here name is Kimberlee, or who I like to call Berlee (which she is not, even close...)
Berlee and I first met when we were freshmen at college. She was one of my roommates. Our friendship sparked when I left my clothes in the dryer one of the first days of school and she not only moved my clothes out of the dryer... she folded them... including my underwear!!! I was pretty embarrassed about that, but that is just the kind of girl that Berlee is, she is a sweetheart. There were many nights spent up talking, laughing, crying, oh the good ole' days at school. Berlee taught me a lot about sewing, and helped spark the passion in me. She helped me make my first quilt, which I made for a boy who I liked... and then broke up with about a week after I gave it to him (FYI don't make quilts for boys that you aren't married to, alright!!).
She made an adorable monkey blanket for Tru which is his favorite because it's so soft. Thanks for that Kimberlee. Tru has yet to meet his Aunt Kimberlee, but he will someday soon.
The real reason why I wanted to spotlight this good friend is because I am so stinking proud of her!!! When I first met her she was majoring in something fancy, wanting to go into Radiation Therapy. Well, that was six years ago, and she is finally graduating!!! YEAH!! She has been a huge inspiration to me to not give up on yourself and your dreams...
For those of you who don't know, you have to apply to get into the radiation program to become a radiation tech. You have to be super smart and get the best grades in the world to get there. It's a whole different story to be do Radiation Therapy. Miss Berlee has been so busy that she has NO TIME to start a blog, so I'm blogging for her... so here you go...
What is your degree in? Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy
Why radiology? I love looking at X-rays and I was interested in how it works.
How many times did you have to apply to the program? Three times for Radiology and two times for Radiation Therapy (FYI Radiology is just taking x-rays and Radiation Therapy is giving radiation to people who need it, like cancer patients). I'm glad I stuck with it!!!
What is the hardest thing about finishing school? The hardest thing is being so busy..not having any me time without feeling guilty I'm not studying. And I feel like a bad wife for studying instead of being with my husband.
Berlee and her hubby Kai...
Now for some funner questions...
Favorite color?: Anything bright...pink, red, purple
Favorite thing to eat?: Right now I'm craving chocolate, pizza, and mac n cheese! Good combo huh?
What do you like to do when you're not studying?: Usually I try to catch up on my cleaning, sleeping, and exercising. I have now set Tues and Thurs as my gym days to get my blood moving a little. I also signed up for a cha cha class with Kai (hubby)...how fun huh?
Well, that is my pathetic, not doing justice to how hard she's worked and how amazing she is spotlight on Kimberlee.
Here she is looking cute with her sister Danielle...Kimberlee, I really am proud of you, you've inspired me as I've watched you go through this whole journey of starting way back when and studying your anatomy parts while we hung out, clear to today. You are more patient and persistent that I could ever dream to be!! Good luck on your boards coming up!! I'm sure you'll do great! I love you!!!
