Success...

So a while back we bought a breast pump. The whole idea being that it's a pain to stop on our long drives to Utah so that we can feed the boy, losing about an hour or more of driving time. I've been scared to use the pump, for various reasons. First off, I didn't want to pump and then have him not take a bottle and here I was, empty, with a bottle full of milk that he wouldn't take. So I waited till today to try my experiment. When it was time for his "dinner" I first made a bottle of formula and Trent gave it to him to see if he would take the formula. He took it, so we staved him off with a pacifier while I pumped. It wasn't too bad, I prefer to feed him myself, easier, less hassle, but it was an experiment so here we went. Then dad gave him the bottle of breast milk, and he drank it up. SUCCESS!!!!! This means that while we are on the long lonely road and feeding time is coming near, I can pump and then Trent can give him a bottle while I keep on driving. This is a very liberating feeling.

I didn't want to introduce him to the bottle until I was sure that he was a good eater with me. Now I feel that I have the best of both worlds. I have a little chomper that eats well with me, but if need be I can pump and he will take it.

Yay for the gift that keeps on giving....
