At the doctors my blood pressure was really high. I haven't had a problem with blood pressure at all in my pregnancy so this sudden change really worried my doctor. Since I was a week away from my due date he said, "Lets go have a baby and not take a chance." So ran to Trent's work to pick him up and we headed for the hospital.
Once I was there, admitted, and hooked up to I.V.'s my blood pressure was normal. Go figure.... but doc said since I was already there we might as well go through with it. So they induced me with the mighty Pitocin and we were on our way.
To make a long and painful story short, after 18 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, we all realized that this baby was too big for me to push out. I thought that I was just joking about the whole big baby thing, but apparently not. This was very hard for me, I really didn't want to have a c-section, but he was not coming out any other way.
Tru was born on Tuesday, October 16th at 12:42 PM and weighed 9 lbs 5 oz (let me remind you he was a week early... he would have been over 10 lbs had I gone full term or over). Brave dad watched the whole thing, mom being cut open and little Tru making his way into the world.
This little guy had the biggest bruise on his head from trying to be born. I felt so bad! So I'm glad that we were able to have another option. Had this been 100 years ago we wouldn't have.
I was in the hospital until Friday night and now we are finally home. I can't believe that I have this little boy! Here he is coming home from the hospital.
I couldn't believe that they actually let me take him home! It is an adjustment to get used to taking care of this little guy, but I couldn't be happier doing it! He is so precious! Here he is all tuckered out! He has the cutest little cry, he sounds like a baby bird (we call him the baby eagle, because he has this little bird cry and he flaps his arms around.)
Anyway, I'm so glad to have him here, and glad to be done with that whole birth thing!!!! I wrote most of this post one handed, so looks like I'm going to be aquiring some new skills here, but that is okay.
