Trent's birthday...

Trent turned 31 last week! All he wanted for his birthday was to have some blue crab and a country boil. He also wanted his famous four layered chocolate ganache cake.

We found an Asian market out here that actually sells blue crab! We've been searching for months for somewhere that sells these, and so Trent was super excited about this. I should get the wife of the year award because I had to put these things LIVE into the pot to boil. And yes, they were snapping at me and totally freaking me out! It was a scary moment in my life, but I made it through...

Is it bad to snap pictures during a prayer? Or maybe this was just before the prayer... Tru's latest and greatest accomplishment, holding his hands like this. He's very proud of himself when he does this, it's cute!

The country boil...

The Warrens brought an awesome variety of ginger ale and root beer for us to all sample. They were super yummy.

Tru was really excited about the crabs too. He didn't quite understand how to eat them though. Sorry for the blurry pictures, this kid wont hold still for too long.

Here is the cake. Chocolate shavings, blueberries, raspberries, it was so yummy! I took a picture of this side because Tru took a big chunk out of the other side when I wasn't looking...

Here is Trent with our adopted Jewish grandma, Malka. She isn't an Orthodox Jew, so she was okay with our crazy country boil! It was her first time eating crab though, she really liked it!

We had a great time! Happy Birthday sweetheart!
