Precious Moments...

We spent the morning going around to different garage sells. We drove by an estate sale with a line clear out the door. We figured that it must be a pretty good sale so we stopped by. I had never been to an estate sale before, pretty interesting. I should have taken notice of all the old ladies in line... there were quite a few of them. Once we got inside the door I understood why.

Apparently lady who owned the home that had just passed away was the former Chapter President of the Precious Moments Collectibles Club (some of the ladies in line kept mentioning it.) This house was unreal. On every wall there were cabinets full of Precious Moments figurines. Custom made cabinets used to house these ceramic figurines. It was really unreal, I wish I had taken a picture so I could remember it. Thousands and thousand of dolls.
It really was insane. What was even more entertaining were all of the ladies who were racing around, trying to get the figurines that they wanted, spending hundreds of dollars on these things. The lady in line ahead of us bought $200 worth of them. I didn't realize they were such a big collectible!
We weren't as exciting... we walked away with a nice filing cabinet.

These became popular when I was in junior high. We made posters from calendar's of these figures and similar ones. I've never owned one though.

Nothing like a good filing cabinet!
