That's when I saw it.
A big ole' scorpion scaling my bedroom wall.
We haven't seen a scorpion in here since October. I think that they go dormant in the winter. Even the ones that we have seen before have been small... about the size of a dime.
Not this one...
I'm so freaked out I can't even tell you! I realized that I was the only one around that was going to be able to do anything about this so I went to the kitchen and grabbed a chair and a glass. I was shaking so hard as I tried to catch it in the glass. One thing I've noticed about scorpions is that they aren't very fast... I had no problem getting the glass over it and getting it off the wall..
Phew....
Now... tell me where your brothers are so I can get rid of them too!!! You are so not welcome in my home!!!
I would trade this scorpion problem any day for those monster cockroaches in Hawaii! Even the ones that get on their back legs and hiss at you. Yep, go ahead and ship them over. I would take those over scorpions any day. Looks like we are going on a scorpion hunt tonight with our black light and blow torch...
P.S. Arizona and Nevada friends... have you had any scorpion problems??? What did you do? Please help!!!

That's so scary and disgusting. I would be pretty freaked out too.
oh you poor baby! oh I don't know what I'd do, you are one TOUGH lady. Actually, I do know what I'd do, run screaming from the house! go you little scorpion catcher :)
ps- WAY cool blog title photo!!
Um...I would take that scorpion any day Meg, those roaches in Hawaii are NASTY! I used to FREAK OUT over them! You are brave though!
It is crazy how often you get these guys. We have never seen one in our house and we are just down the street. Good luck getting them out of you home. I would totally freak.
Oh my goodness! You're braver than I! I would just watch it until Nilesh got home and send him to catch it!!!
That is soooo nasty! Ugh.... We had a lot of big cockroaches in FL - and those freaked me out too! I don't know how to get rid of bugs without the terminix guy. However, for solitary cases, I use cleaner and spray bugs until they are dead. There was a huge black widow on my porch last year - I sprayed it with everything I could find and it just wouldn't die. Then I got real creative and went for the Weed B Gone Max - six solid pumps did the trick. Of course, that was outdoors. But if your walls need a good cleaning - you might be able to find something strong enough to kill the suckers.
AAAHHHHH! No, I haven't seen one scorpion since we moved to Arizona, thank goodness. I have such bad anxiety attacks over things like that, so it's a good thing.
Oh...yikes! That brings back memories. We had them in Texas and they were that size. Didn't know they came any smaller! My mom insisted they travel in pairs so (not to frighten you) keep an eye out...
My thing, since we don't have scorpions here, are spiders! We sometimes get the big wolf spiders. Hate them! I used to threaten to put their little heads on stakes around my house as a warning to others who might creep in.
I wish I could tell you what to do with the scorpions though. Good luck!
ACKKK OH MY GOSH! You're brave! Good luck, I hope you found them all and killed them!
