I took this picture from my bedroom window because I thought that the guys doing the work outside would think that it was weird that I was taking a picture of the crane. But really, how many times in your life do you need to rent a crane huh? I'm hoping not a lot.
I guess this is just one of those things that comes with the "buying a foreclosure" territory. Everything comes as is. We didn't know that it was totally kaput until winter rolled around (since it's up on the roof and we didn't actually look at it.) And it blew out cold air. Not so fun. We survived with the help of space heaters, hot chocolate, jackets, and a fire place. I'm glad that I don't live in Alaska or North Dakota and the winter wasn't too terribly cold.
However, I was not about to try to brave out the 115 degree summer without some A/C.
I didn't cry when I wrote out the check... but I did secretly wish I was buying a second car instead of an HVAC unit.

I was just looking on the side of the blog, and you know where it has "Us" and a picture of you & Trent? And then underneath, is a picture of your beautiful little boy? green+blue= TRU blue!!
Ok, random. I know. sorry. But I miss you tons - and I love reading your blog! I'm happy to know that you guys are doing well :0)
A crane? Oh my heck! The price we pay for comfort, eh? I don't blame you. I can't stand being cold.
You are a brave, brave girl! I think I would have had the men doing the work POSE for a picture :)
Glad you're getting it all fixed up! Good luck with that!!
the joys of buying foreclosure, we are so in your same boat, but so many homes in the area don't even have AC luckily so we don't have to worry about that. But we do have to decide what to do with a pool in our backyard, cover it or maintain the stupid thing. Anyway we have joined the world of house projects. Lots of fun but next time around I'm not going to try and do it six weeks before my due date!
:(
Holy Moly! If I had to pay to rent a crane I think I'd be asking if I could have a turn in it!!! That's too bad you had to do that but I'm sure you'll be very happy this summer!
Hey I found your blog again! I think I lost track of it when you started your craft blog, but I'm glad I found it again!
