I really liked President Uchtdorf's talk in the General Relief Society Meeting this last weekend. I've been thinking a lot about the things that he spoke about and how it pertains to my life.
I love creating things, I really do. I love being able to create a good meal, a beautiful picture, pretty much anything I can. I get so much satisfaction out of creating things. But he brought up creations in a way that I had never thought about before....
"If you still feel incapable of creating, start small. Try to see how many smiles you can create, write a letter of appreciation, learn a new skill, identify a space and beautify it."
I've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately with trying to get the different projects I have going on done. I always seem to be half done with a bunch of projects, with no end in sight. Plus, feeling the need to get things done perfectly... takes its toll on my mental sanity.
I'm fine with not being wonder woman, really I am. But I do like for things to look good and for me to feel good. So here is what I'm starting with...
I like how he said to identify a space and beautify it. There are lots of area's in my home I'm trying to beautify right now, but I'm going to take a breath... relax... and pick just one that I will concentrate on... for now.
Here is my space...
This is the wall in my living room. I had Trent hang up these shelves for me and I love them... but they are very bare. I just have a sideways wedding picture and an empty clear vase... not exactly my favorite choice of decor...
So I'm giving myself until October 20th to have this space beautified and I will show what it looks like then. If any of you want to play along, pick a space and beautify it!!!

Paris, I think it's time to confess my blog stalking. I worked at Brighton after you so I found your blog through common Brighton girls. I love all of your fun crafty ideas. I'm so excited to make the cute pumpkins that you linked to. I too liked Elder Uchtdorf's talk because I also like to create. Hopefully you are ok with me reading your blog:)
