I'm a dreamer...

The other day the thought occured to me that I've fallen into a slump that I'm not too happy about. The slump is that I tend to be more of a dreamer than a doer...

I don't know what my problem is? Maybe it's that it's so picking hot out here in the Gobi Desert (It's been about 110 for a while now) and the heat just zaps my energy and I don't want to do anything!! Or maybe it's that I'm just putting things off with the excuse of, "I'll wait to do that when we move..." Either way, the list of things that I want to accomplish is growing at a much faster rate than they are getting done.

So Friday I decided that I am no longer going to be a dreamer, but I'm going to be a DOER!!! Starting on Friday I've been making a big effort to not just sit around and think about the things that I want to do but to actually do them. Are any of you in this rut?

Here is my list for this summer... of things that I'm not just going to think about, but actually do.
- Paint Tru's rocking chair a delicious green
- Figure out how to decorate a cake (I've made one attempt and... need lots of help!!)
- Work on picture albums (starting with our wedding one... hmmmm) FYI - not officially scrapbooking
- Make curtains for Tru's windows
- Start on a hexagon quilt
- Learn how to crochet
- Re-do my spices and make new labels for them
- Re-frame pictures that I want to put on the wall
- Paint our dresser
- Pick out some new fabric for throw pillows for the couch
- Make some cute potholders and oven mits that match my kitchen stuff

Okay, that's enough for now. I have a few months, lets see how far I can get!!

Nope, I don't have that problem. I do everything I say I'm gonna do... NOT! I'm still working on my last 3 classes for my degree. Yeah, its only taking me FOREVER!

Good for you! And next time you're in Utah I'll teach you how to crochet! I can at least help you with that one :)

I love hexagon quilts to make while on LONG road-trips or while watching Movies...
it's something to do so you don't feel like you're being wasteful of time...they're fun but VERY time consuming.
I can't wait to start seeing pictures of it

i think a wee one kinda turns you from a doer into a dreamer. free time ... what's that? it certainly has with me. so kudos to you for having the gumption to get some of your dream done!
