Memorial Weekend...

I debated on if I should post this or not... here is my dilemma. My family lives in Utah, so does Trent's family. So do soooooooo many other people that we love and would love to go and see and I always feel so bad when we make a quick trip to Utah and don't get to see other friends that I would really like to. But, I did it again... I went to Utah, and I did not get to see a lot of friends that I promised I would come and see the next time I was up there.... Does anyone have a solution for this problem that I have?? It's not an option to move there right now... it's a real problem, I'll admit. After feeling guilty all week for not seeing friends that I wanted to see, or even telling some people that we were there, I decided to post about it anyway, because I'm not superwoman with flying powers, and that's okay...

So, there was lots of wedding stuff for my sister over Memorial weekend, plus my mom's birthday, so I talked my sister into letting me use a buddy pass of hers and fly Tru and I up to Salt Lake. Trent came up on Saturday and we all drove home together on Monday...

It was Tru's first plane ride, and I was pretty nervous about it. He is just such a squirmy kid I didn't know if he would be able to sit there the whole... hour flight!! I know, it's not a long flight, but I didn't want angry passengers yelling at me if my kid was screaming. So here is what happened during take off...

SLEEP!!! He fell asleep in my arms as the plane left the ground and stayed that way until I... tried to open the window. Shouldn't have done it! His little eyes popped right open!! Good thing this is what he was like the rest of the flight...

Saturday was busy with doing my sisters hair for her bridal pictures bright and early. Then we had a bridal shower for her. You can kind of see her hair in this picture, under all her bows. My beautiful older sister was the decorator here...

I tried to get a pic of the tooth, this was the best one...

Here we are all busy doing wedding invitations. Lots of fun wedding stuff going on!!!

Then Saturday night we had a bbq for my mom's birthday, it was so nice. Nice to be all together as a family.

We spent all day Sunday with Trent's family, and Monday we tried to go fishing (Trent has been DYING to go fishing. There really aren't any good fishing spots around here) but it was pouring rain, and Tru wasn't liking it. So we went to Trent's sisters house, had another bbq, and waved goodbye. It was a loooooonnnnnggg drive home. Tru cried the whole way pretty much. Found out the next morning that tooth #2 came through, no wonder!!! Anyway, that was our Memorial weekend.

I'm glad you got to come up for the weekend and spend time with your family. That's good Tru fell asleep on the plane. Don't worry about people getting upset that you can't visit everybody. They should be more understanding. :)

I know how that goes. Nate's parents live in Seattle, which is where I grew up (my parents moved), and everytime we go over there I don't have time to see all my friends even though I tell them I will try. Its a battle everytime between Nate's family and my friends. Hopefully people understand your position though! I know- its hard! Its pretty much impossible to see everyone!

SO CUTE! And I love that he was happy on the plane! And even better that you got to Utah quickly! I know how hard it is to make a long road trip with a baby! I love your hair, I can't get enough of it! You look gorgeous!

i'm all full of suggestions today ... when we went to Utah I called up a friend and organized a party with everyone (even if they didn't know each other) so that we could see everyone. Killed like 2 dozen birds with one stone.
