Here is the house hunt update.... it's officially over (hopefully). The house that we really wanted accepted our offer yesterday, and we faxed off our signed acceptance today. So I'm keeping my fingers double triplet crossed that everything goes smoothly with our loan and we are able to move in on June 23rd.
I don't think that I sound super excited, I'm very excited, but very nervous at the same time. Trent and I have talked about wanting to buy a foreclosed home and fix it up for as long as we've been together. It's been a big dream of ours and I find it a little scary that it's actually coming true. This house is only 3 years old, so it's not that bad. We are easing our way into being flippers I guess which is good in the kind of market that we are in. Here are the good perks to the house...
- It has a HUGE (for Vegas) unfinished backyard. Trent really wanted to find something with a backyard that he could landscape, because he loves doing that kind of stuff. It took a while to find, but it does have a nice, big, empty backyard for him to work on.
- It has 3 bedrooms, one for us, one for Tru, and one to use as a guest room/craft room for me until baby #2 comes along (no this is not any type of an invitation for discussion here...)
- I'm getting the tub that I really wanted!!!! It has a beautiful master bath with a separate shower and tub. A nice big tub.....
- I think that the original owner must have been an old lady... because the kitchen counters are light green... Not loving the kitchen counters at all, those will eventually get replaced. But the good perks to the kitchen are that it has a double oven!!! Oh the sweetrolls we can make with a double oven!!
- It's a two story home which we didn't exactly want. I'm a little worried about having two stories and having to have c-sections. I'll just have to camp out in the living room or talk someone into coming down and helping me I guess. But on the plus side, that means that there are less windows on the bottom level for me to worry about someone breaking into. Yes, I have an obsession here (I think that you would too) and I'm planning on getting my house as safe and secure as possible, including putting security laminate on the windows.
- It already is wired for a security system and surround sound... not bad, not bad!!!
I'm sure that my little list of things could go on here, but that's enough for now. Not bad for a repo huh?? I don't think so! There will be a lot of work still, we will need to eventually replace all the carpet (bleach spots everywhere) and tile in the kitchen and bathrooms. The cabinets are really nice, so that's a plus. I'll put pictures up when I get some, but that's just a little update for now...
