she started a few years back for her husband. It’s been a fun project to finish for a few reasons. 1- It’s her first big quilt that she’s made 2- We started this back in Hawaii 3- This was the beginning of our friendship.
When I met Chelsie our husbands were in classes together at BYU Hawaii. I didn’t think that we would be very good “matches” as friends because the only thing that I really knew about her was that she was an accountant and had a masters degree in accounting, and I had to take college algebra 3 TIMES to pass it with a C. I thought that there would be nothing in the world that we had in common to base a friendship on. Well, I was wrong. Chelsie also loves to workout The past few day’s I’ve been helping my friend Chelsie finish a jean quilt that and there were many many mornings that we would be up at 5:45 a.m. to go to the gym together, or run sprints on the rugby field. Life has changed a little, and instead of working out in the morning together we usually go on walks around the neighborhood, with our two cute little kids.

Also Chelsie wanted to learn how to sew, and I knew how to sew. We started with two baby blankets and have moved onto this jean quilt. She has done a great job on it and it’s sparked lots of memories, thoughts, in my head tying it and finishing it this week.
First thought is how many times do we start a project and never finish it? There are a few new projects that I want to start but I have a few old ones just waiting to be finished. So I’m going to try to finish these old projects before I start on the new ones. Also, it really is the basic things that matter most. I’m sure that her husband is going to love this quilt and think of his wife when he uses it and the time that she has spent to make it. There is just something about things homemade with love that you can never replace by buying something.
So congrats Chelsie on finishing you quilt. Thanks for letting me be a part of it.
