I have such a sweet tooth it’s not even funny!!! I could eat sugar all day long, and some days I think I have. I really love sweets and I can not resist them, trust me I’ve tried….. and that’s usually when I end up having an all sweets day. I don’t believe in total deprivation because life is to be enjoyed and I don’t enjoy life that much when I’m deprived. So I’ve learned a few things to trick myself. There are some good treats out there to satisfy the sweet cravings and not go totally overboard….
These tasty little things have only 60 calories each. So if you can’t stop at one and you have two, no sweat. I like these because they give me the chocolaty taste that I like. (Side note on these…. they TOTALLY helped me loose weight when I was really trying to a few years back. They were the only sweet treat that I had and I felt great!!!)

Jello makes those great sugar free treats. My favorite is the dulce le leache. I don’t remember the calorie count on these, but I’ve tried most of them and they are really good!!!

This one may seem a bit sinful, but I have a real hard time passing these up when grocery shopping. They have 140 calories in one, and I love the minty taste. I feel like 140 calorie splurge on this is totally worth it!! Then I really don’t feel deprived.

Fruit smoothies are the ultimate healthy sweet treat. I like to put yogurt, strawberries (I buy the berries in bulk from Costco), pineapple juice, and vanilla in them. You can throw in almost any fruit, and it helps you get your fruit in for the day and you get a nice sweet treat.

I’m a HUGE dark chocolate fan…. and they say that it’s good for you right? I would melt some dark chocolate (at least 60% cacao) in a pan and dip all kinds of fruit in it. Strawberries, pineapple, bananas, oranges… great date activity or if you just want to feel like a queen for a minute, it has that type of effect on me.

So in the short… I try to keep some of these around because I don’t feel as guilty eating a 60 calorie fudgesicle as I do eating half a pan of brownies. It keeps my sweet tooth in check and leaves me feeling a little less deprived.
What “guilt free” treats do you like???
